Objective:
The Automatic Reptile Feeder project aimed to develop an innovative solution for the reptile care market by creating an automated feeding system. The objective was to address the specific needs of reptile owners who required a convenient and customizable feeding solution for their pets.
Project Description:
As the project lead, my role encompassed guiding a diverse team with expertise in mechanical CAD, electronics, and coding. We initiated the project after conducting comprehensive market research, identifying a market gap in the reptile care industry that could be filled with an automated feeder.
Responsibility:
My primary responsibilities in this project included:
Overseeing the development of the mechanical CAD design for optimal functionality.
Designing the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) using Eagle software, essential for controlling the feeding sequence.
Coding the project, which involved utilizing an Arduino Nano IoT for remote control capabilities.
Implementing an LCD screen and buttons to enable users to program and customize feeding schedules.
Conducting interviews with potential customers to gather feedback, which was used to refine the product.
Outcome:
The outcome of the Automatic Reptile Feeder project was the successful creation of a functional prototype. This prototype not only addressed the identified market need but also incorporated user-driven enhancements based on feedback. The project showcased the effective integration of mechanical design, electronics, and coding skills, resulting in a practical and user-friendly solution for reptile enthusiasts.
